A printer that actually creates things in 3D, from a computer program. Sounds absolutely amazing, I’d love to see it actually working though. Picture from popsci.com.

Considering everything is looking to be moving towards complete digital (e-paper, OLED etc), the idea of enforcing technology on something that is both ‘old’ and entirely analogue is very interesting. A company wants to put RFID chips into staples to allow easy recovery of lost documents. Source: Popular Science magazine

I’ve been thinking about starting a project on this, looking at simplifying mobile phone interface design to get rid of the nasty images that don’t actually display much. Similar to the ‘Greenium’ and ‘Redium’ 3rd party themes for Nokia Series 60 v3 devices. Would be interesting to see how long it takes Symbian / Nokia to get involved with the same thinking.

Microsoft Surface

I’m sure most people will have seen this by now. Microsoft have unveiled a table reminiscent of the iPhone, allowing complete control and integration with exisiting technology such as mobile phones and mp3 players. Interesting idea, not sure yet on the concept of building it into a table but still very clever.
